I love this picture. At first it looked like the beach was lower than the water, because of the mineral rings left over time. This is an extremely salty lake in Africa, which caused the intriguing pattern on the sand. This reminds me of a beach I went to in Carmel, California in August. It was simple, yet the opposite of plain. If you stood facing the ocean, you saw a rounded part of the water, which was a clear greenish blue. The sand was really white like this and WAY too hot to stand barefoot on so this picture reminds me of a hot summer that can be quelled by the ocean. This is one of those photos that take something simple but create a portrayal and/or perspective that no one usually imagines with their bureaucratic brain. There is a simple color palette and there is not anything significant like a whale jumping out of the ocean but it makes you think. Those are some of the best types of pictures.
